Im back from court now and officially bankrupt.
Thought I'd feel glad but tbh I feel like !!!!!!.
The people in the court were absolutely fantastic, really helpful and a really nice judge too.
Then I was told that I had to go straight over to the ORs office. Wasn't really expecting this but thought it could only be good news to get everything sorted there and then.
How wrong was I.......
The first chap that seen me was pleasant enough and filled some forms in whilst asking questions. When he asked me did i have any questions I asked him about my houses, car, tax etc. He couldn't answer but said that the next person i saw would be able to answer my questions.
She came in and introduced herself, then went through my forms. I felt like I was being interviewed by coppers, she was harsh.
I mentioned to her that i didn' want to hide a single thing and would give her complete open book. She noticed one of my accounts was in my property company name. I told her that due to me being made BR I had resigned from this company over amonth ago and my partner was director. I again mentioned that I was not trying to hide anything, hence me mentioning it, but didnt want to fall foul of director/br rules.
She said that it could be argued that I was trying to place assets out of reach of creditors. My reply was that i wasn't, hence the disclosure, and if they want the house in the ltd co. name and the hassles that go with it they can have it.
We then got on to the gambling:rolleyes: She looked at the figure I put as a loss and asked how I lost it. I told her that I went on poker etc online but also that i had had wins that will not show, so actually the loss is less.
She asked where and i told her some nights I have came out of casinos with around £5k. "Well, we'll need to see proof of that, like the cheque receipt" I informed her that it was paid cash "No it wasn't, they dont pay out large amounts in cash" she said. "Yes they do, I said in scotland 50 x £100 notes;) " I then said that I wasn't trying to hide anything and if she wanted she could have my full authority to contact the casinos and see my visits there etc.
"We dont need your permission, we'll get it anyway" she snapped.
At which point I said "you don't really like me do you?" She started to stutter and back track before i then informed her that i didnt want to leave school start a business, have it fail, owe a sh1tload of money, go bankrupt and end up losing my lovely X5 and driving drunks round in a taxi!"
She went out the room to get some further paper came back and for some reason was much nicer.
Apparently they are going to do a drive by valuation of the house to ascertain any BI in it. The good news is that the figure they look at to determine the BI is the redemtion figure, and mine has something like a £12 k Early repayment fee:D
She even asked if I had any money on me there and then in my pockets to put towards paying my creditors? And if I had some at home:rotfl:
I must have just caught her on her off day but I really felt like I was being told off/punished.
I have been told that she will arrange an appointment in the next 2 weeks which is likely to take 3 hours due to my assetts etc.
So in the meantime I need to graft my 4rse off to prove I can affors to pay my outgoings (but not too much so i get an IPA;) )
Thanks for all the support,
I wasn't expecting to feel this down but hopefully that will improve.0 -
