Going to the DVLA office to put my private reg on retention,

    You have thought of everything!

I doubt the OR would see a resale market for a private reg, unless it is really clever.

In fact I know of someone who went bankrupt a few months ago and is still driving around in their personalised number plate.

Oops forgot to say good luck!

Good luck tomorrow ITBS.. like I think you know already from reading posts on here, the anticipation is usually a lot worse than the actual deed!

Hope it goes smoothly for you :)

I'd be a bit careful with the private reg thing, as you are, in theory, hiding an asset.

    Thanks everyone,

    Re the reg....

I'll play dumb "I thought i had to return the car the same as when I bought it, eg same reg;) the plate is unique to me so would not be easily resold and second hand value i have checked would get 350. I feel guiltier about the 50" plasma:D

I'll be paying in cash anyway and as its only £105 I seriously doubt it ill be picked up. I am going completely open book on everything else, gambling, 2 buy to let mortgages etc so Im sure in the scale of things a hundred quid is !!!!!! all.

I suggest you read my earlier posts in their entirity before making judgemental comments. I have worked every day since leaving school 12 years ago, set up a national company, employed over 50 people, paid generous wages, and when the compnay hit trouble made sure everyone got paid their dues, and in some cases more than their dues.

If all I have to show for it is a nice house and a big telly, private reg then I can hardly see where I am abusing the system???

Anyway I didn't realsie bankrupts did have a bad name on here, this is the bankruptcy board:confused: Is this your narrow minded opinion or the general view.

Thanks again for your constructive comments and support;)

The MadmouseJudgemental? to me it comes across from reading your posts that your out to defraud the OR plain & simple hiding various things......I too have worked every day god sent to live a plain simple life & always made sure people I owed always got paid..why that matters I dont know...people here have gone BR with a damn sight less than what your boasting about

I hope all goes well for you

    Various things???

Plasma telly, currently available for £999.99, should be declared if over £1000 and even then normally left with them.

Private reg, would realise £350, less fees, £200 and take ages to sell as it's fairly unique.

The things im not hiding include 2 buy to let properties, totalling well over £250k. If I was "out to defraud the system" I guarantee you I could think of ays to ensure that I am more likely to keep at least one, maybe even both of these.

People may have gone BR with a dam sight less, also they may have gone BR with a damn sight more. Good luck to anyone who has been, or is going through BR.

As for boasting??? I think you misunderstand me. Believe me I am not boasting about having to go into a court admit that my business has failed, Im not in a position to pay my debts, and then have the OR sift through all my details.

I'm still curious how you think that BR's have such a bad name on here, considering of course your non judgemental stance.

    You tellem!!!!!
Cheeky !!!!!!, i bet he's never been where we all are!!!!
BR'S should be commended for facing up to their debt and not hiding it away or running away from it. It takes a lot of courage to post here and even more to face BR and its outcome.

    Cheers Zoe.

I have found this board to be fantastic, and until then not at all judgemental.

TBH if I was out to defraud the system I would/could come out of this smelling of roses, although I like to sleep at night and not worry about repercussions years down the line.

I'm not sure whether the posts have been deleted by the mods or the OP has bottled it as I seriously wanted an answer to his statement that all Brs have a bad name on here.

    Thanks again for the support
