Been in a new house with my OH for 6 months now, we have just been given an apple mac...lucky us!!
Ive been doing a bit of research and Virgin & o2 look the best broad band providers?? am i right here?? how can i decide what is best for me?
Also i will need a BT line wont i? the house already has one but im sure it needs to be activated? roughly how much is that??
I only want broadband not fussed about a house phone really.
Also these cards that slot into the computer letting you use it anywhere are they worth looking into??
Kindest Regards
Lucy

If look at the names at the top end of this ratings table, you probably won't have heard of any of them - the reason - no one complains about them !
In general, the more you pay the better the service that you will get. If you want a good service be prepared to pay £20 + per month, if you want to pay less than that, it really is pot-luck what you get.

If you intend getting Sky TV and they have their equipment in your exchange - http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php then they are worth considering.
For a BT line many providers install them but BT are running a £30 installation deal, 18 month contract + make so many calls via BT per month, http://www.serviceview.bt.com/list/public/notifs/22-04-2008/Notice08_boo/NotificationPeriodImpl267403FrameworkImpl267413.htm#FrameworkImpl267413
otherwise prices range from £99 - £125 (dial 17070 and get your phone number and line test options shouldn't be chargeable).“I look like Spiderman at a funeral”~ Karl Pilkington0
