MSE works better on Firefox?

I logged into MSE and kept trying to submit a message. Every time I clicked Submit or Preview, I was informed my message was less than 10 characters long, and was advised to lengthen it. This was clearly nonsense, but it happened every time - until I switched from IE to Mozilla Firefox. Now I can submit messages again (like this one) :j
Not sure if this has ever been mentioned. MSE doesn't seem to work on IE anymore.

Might give it a try, I'm constantly (2/3) times a day being booted off MSE and get IE cannot display the page message, the only way I can get back on here is by unplugging my router and starting it up again. Been happening for ages

News to me. I'm currently (and have done for years) using Internet Explorer with this site. Not seen any of the problems described. So can't possibly a general problem of not working with IE."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

May sound a silly question but have you updated to IE7 and/or updated Windows updates recently?Always looking for a bargain and to help0

No I haven't made any recent upgrades so that's not the problem. I use IE6; can't have IE7 on my machine anyway as it's too old. IE6 seems to work OK for other websites I visit; it's only MSE I get a problem with. And this works just fine on Firefox.0 -
Maybe that is the problem. IE6 is nowhere near as secure as IE7. If you run XP (ignore if not), I don't see why you can't install IE7. I've installed it on incredibly outdated machines without problems. Are you keeping Windows updated anyway? Critical updates are just that, critical."She is quite the oddball. I think you mis-understood my post and as Superscaper said you need those updates.
Do all the Microsoft updates including upgrading to IE7 and let us know if it's any better.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -

I think that you have misunderstood his post! There are still lots of people running Win 98.
What I can't understand is why the OP still uses IE6 when Firefox is far superior. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I don't think I did as the OP never mentioned he was running Win 98 just that his machine was old and as Superscaper mentioned IE7 can be put on old machines.
The OP did mention he hasn't done any upgrades recently so this may mean the updates haven't been done lately so do the basics first then go from there if the problem still persists.Always looking for a bargain and to help0 -

Well I would never install IE7 on an old WIN98 machine (if it is) as it's just full of bloatware.

If it is an old OS machine, there are no updates. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
