Does anyone else get a what sounds like static or interference when using the 18866 service. I know this is a cheap service, but the clarity is nowhere near as good as say Onetel, even for standard local or national calls. Has anyone else noticed this, or is it just me ?
I use an Orchid dialler by the way.
Thanks.0 -
yes the same here0

I use 18866/1899/onetel via an Orchid dialler on a BT line and have no problem whatsoever with any of them here in deepest Yorkshire. Mum is in east midlands and uses 1899 via NTL using the access number and again has no problems. She rang me in Spain recently on it too and it was fine (and VERY cheap!).
No complaints from us!

I've been using 18866 for about 12 months now without any problems. I think it's a great cheap service and have recommended it, however I have had loads of problems this morning trying to make calls. I got number unobtainable loads of times to different numbers and sometimes just no connection at all. When I immediately redial via BT the call has connected properly. I hope this is just a glitch, however I might start looking at some other options just in case this is the start of things to come.0

Same here. Using 18866 on a BT line in Birmingham, was getting "long" busy tone after dialling 18866. I might register for 1899 as well, just in case.0 -

It's Sunday today.
Don't all MSE-ers have a CPS which gives free calls (UK 01/02 numbers) at least on Saturdays and Sundays?Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -
