Has anyone started including p&p to improve DSRs?

I have 4.8 for that one, which I know is okay, but I time my listings to end before 1.00pm each day and I then post the item(s) won (as long as they've been paid for obviously!) that day on my way to getting the kids from school. I always post first class. I can't physically post any quicker than that, so why should I be marked down on my dispatch time?
I know it's only a small thing, but it does bug me!
I think many buyers equate dispatch time to delivery time. They dont seem interested in how quickly it was sent but how quickly they received it. Unfortunately Royal Mail items sometimes take longer than they should and therefore some buyers may be marking you down in those instances. Also, many see 4 out of 5 as Good, which indeed it is.0 -
I also think that some buyers think 5/5 is perfection and just don'y give it. I had a lovely email from a lady who received her item next day from winning and was extremely pleased, however she gave a 4 - what more could I do??
Oh well..0 -

and there is the problem with DSRs and with feedback. The norm should be 3 and neutral with so you have room to reward and mark down as appropriate, but Ebay have decided the neutral is the same as negative and that 4.6 is a normal average.
Unless you are a big seller a few buyers like yours giving you a 4 and you are soon in trouble.0 -
Opens whole new market for "DSR improvement" buisnesses. Let's say seller wish to improve his DSR marking, they would set up an action with multiple virtual items for £0.01, collection only (so there is no paypal requirement). Number of prepaid "improvers" would then go and purchase said item and give 5 star across all fields thus putting seller back on the search map...
One thing that we have to realise, though, is DSR is yet another step into sweaping private, small time sellers away from ebay - in the world where 4.4 sends you on the bench, those of us that don't have team of people on site to guarantee same day dispatch and offset next day courier deliveries, those of us who can only post on Saturdays, or cannot have personal assistant replying to all questions, queries, issue "your item has now been dispatched", "your items is now half way to York" notificiations will soon enough perish. I simply can't run my occiasional second hand boot sales like 0 minute fast food shop. If I could, I would have a shop, not auction site login.0 -

.
Unfortunately paypal is required as an option on all auctions, collection included, something that concerns a great many of us. Just take a look at the huge thread on the ebay forum about it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
