Please can anyone help me, i have a sony errikson 6660i its been fine up until 2 weeks ago when even though i have a full signal i get "no network coverage" or "emergency calls only". I cannot make or receive any calls or texts it was sent off by 3 to have a systems upgrade but this didnt amke any difference.
I spoke to 3 customer services who were not helpful they said that a problem between 3 and sony eriksson was the problem,and that the software was not avaiable to repair the phone. I took my complaint all the way to the director customer services who gave me the option of a refurb phone or upgrading early at a cost of between £50-£300 , I explained that i was the innocent party in this but they refused to help me further.Is there anything i can do surely they are in breach of the sale of goods act which i quoted at them to no avail?

the phone has been barred/blocked because either someone has reported it lost/stolen or you havn't paid a bill.
you can ask 3 to unblock it, but they may refuse. the phone will work fine in somewhere like fraNCE as they dont share the same blacklists as the UK networks do0 -
You obviously didnt read my message .....its not my fault... everythings paid up and not blocked.
3 and sony have technical issues that cannot be resolved and me and anyone else who has this problem and i am told by their customer services department that there may be quite a lot of us now and in future that will be stuck in the middle!!!!0 -

On my sony ericsson z610i on Three I have had this happen to me twice in 14mths - the 1st time, a friend in work took the sim out and gave it a wipe, both sides, blew the dust out and the phone was back to full signal.
The second time which happened about a month ago, I took the sim out, gave it a wipe and got full signal when I replaced in back in phone.
I have heard that some SE phones can be sensitive to dampness, because both times this happened to me after I travelled to work when it was raining and I think this had something to do with the resulting sudden loss of signal.
Worth a tryI always wanted to be a procrastinator, never got round to it...0 -
I have tried everything myself... no bleeps...has been to 3 technical support for software upgrade which was unsuccesful... 3 admitted they do have a problem with the software for the handset but are not prepared to replace it... i have never come across a company like it... they admitted fault but are not willing to help... but i still have to pay a monthly dd bill for no service... highly bizarre0

try a master reset (BACK UP ALL DATA BEFORE YOU DO THIS - IE PICTURES, TEXTS, MUSIC, VIDEOS ETC). its in settings > general > master reset. try a settings reset, the i f that doesnt work try a the full master reset. the phone will reboot at the end of the full M.S.
if that still hasnt worked, try reflashing the software using SEUS (3/SE may have been lazy and not done this for you). if it doesnt update, look for a continue anyway button, it might not appear0
