Broadband Without phone line?

Afternoon all,
I have recently moved into a new house which has no phone-line installed but i would like to connect to the internet. Is there any way possible of getting a broadband connection without having a phone line? Having a phone line installed is not an option as it would be too costly plus with monthly line rental to pay it would be a very expensive internet connection, as i use my mobile for all my calls.
My dad told me he heard Martin on Radio2 last week and he mentioned something about broadband with no phone line, but he wasn't listening properly so cant remember what he said.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks
Phil

how about cable?0

Only via cable (but I think they include phone line too).
With BT you do not need to make any phone cals, but you have to pay the line rental to cover the cost of the wired network to your house as this is required to brovede an ADSL connection. To infinity and beyond!0 -

Satellite Broadband is available and in some areas some Internet service providers are offering wireless broadband.0 -
Ive got Blueyonder with no phone and no cable TV they just use a
connection from the small cable box stuck on the wall inside the house.0 -
you need a phone line for satellite broadband for the upstream - cos you only get broadband downstream via the satellite, and dialup is needed for the upload0
-
yes you can get wireless internet access without a phoneline from https://www.netvigator.co.uk (provided you're in an area covered by the reception)
spoke to one of the sales staff & they are awaiting a delivery of wireless modems, hence the reason the website has put a hold on orders for the service - apparently the modems should be in stock in a few weeks!0 -
Thanks muffinhead, but typical my area is not covered by their service.
Mr Skint, what service is it you have with blueyonder?
Thanks for all of your input, i will keep looking and if anything comes up i will post up the info.

where abouts do you live? when I type in my postcode it says:We're sorry, but we can't currently provide now wireless broadband at your address. Please leave us your contact details, and we will keep you updated on our coverage area
but when I called them on 0800 092 9889 I found out that my area was covered but they were just out of wireless modems - it maybe worth a call?
p.s. I don't work for them

Just Blueyonder Broadband only for 17.99 per month for a 512kbps
that is due to go to 2mbps for no xtra charge or download capping
If you get a package deal it can work out cheaper, i.e Phone and
Broadband, TV and Broadband, But I just have Broadband and nothing else
as I dont need a landline nor want cable TV, So they connected the
Broadband into the TV cable point as I dont have Cable TV.
Its just that I didnt want to pay for line rental or Cable TV
and phone call costs.0 -
netvigator are !!!!eeeeeeee i have them now and they always make unfulfilled promises............im cutting them off0
