URGETLY need help! Issue with a big company!

Options
hi,

i appreciate any advise. thx

ok,
the thing is that I need a screenshot or something of a site I visited on 30 may.

the site is telebid.com
as u can see theres a news section on the left hand side of the homepage.
THIS updates everyday. New offers for each day, etc.

The thing is on 30 May, this news ticker stated something like "Two Happy Hours today from 7 PM to 9 PM. Buy bid packs and get 25% extra".
Happy hours = if i bid during this hour, i get all my bids back. its a freeroll.
1 Bid = 50p (UK pence)

I bid relentlessly, like i do during these hours. So by the end I bid about 200 GBP plus of bids.

But after that i didnt get my bids back.

They said that i must be mistaken and they didnt have that offer.

I know i could be mistaken but i am 100% sure i m not. Cos as it was friday evening, my family and friends went out, but i stayed at home as i was involved with this.
Now the only witnesses i have to my honesty is my family. They saw the ticker when i explained them why i wasnt coming as these offers come by rarely.

SO BACK TO THE TECH STUFF;

if i am somehow able to get a cached page or screenshot of telebid.com on that day - 30 may , i will have that news section to prove my honesty and get my money back.

I am very sure i havent cleared any private data from my firefox browser since then.

I checked google web history to no avail.

I checked cached pages of telebid.com on both google and yahoo to no avail.

They are a start-up company i think, but still pretty big.

I know they wouldnt scam me of a few hundred quid.

hence i think its more of a technical issue.

I have had technical issue with them on the same day, but they were different. But they could still be related to this.

Also, i was on telebid site from different pcs as well, even without being logged in and i saw the news on both. one was server03 and other was xp.

Please help me fix this.

Am I right in thinking that you've interpreted "buy bid packs and get 25% free" as "all your bids are free"?

    no.

    there were 2 offers.
1st the main one - HAPPY HOURS
During these hourse all your single click bids, which cost 50p each, will be returned. So its a freeroll. On this the the 2 hh were from 7-9 pm.

    2nd offer - 25% one
Now the promotion stated that if u need more bids to take part in these happy hours, buy bid packs now and u will get 25% free. NOT all free.

So i bought some more. My account already had many. But i still took the 25% offer as it was pretty good.

The main problem is HAPPY HOURS. all sinngle click bids, whether free or not, should return to my account after these hours.

But they r saying there werent any hh during that day.

i am 100% certain there were. it was on their homepage news.

but i can easily see how u got confused.

    thx mate

I read that as you get a single free roll, or a free go on one item.
Why would they give every user £200 for free? It would be too good to be true IMHO

Two things make it workable for them
    1. Time frame
    2. Single click bids only and not butler bids

there r two kinds of bids.
    butler bids and single-click bids.

butler bids bids r more dangerous for them if they started refunding them during happy hrs.

The time frame - only 1 hr usually. and u cant keep bidding unless some1 else bids and most of the action is in the final 10-15 secs.
And if u have 2 butlers come in, u cant keep single-bidding as the time increase 10 secs for each of their butlerbids.

BTW: CAN sme1 please tell me how to get some evidence/screensht from my pc or the www.

Out of interest I tried Googling a few terms to see if I could pull up anyone else having problems, there is absolutely nothing out there apart from this thread and a number of other threads casting doubts on the site in question as being a bit of a mugs game.

If the site was well used, which it isn't, then I should imagine there would be others who had seen this offer and may have kept a screen grab. Unfortunately as most people seem to avoid the site I think it unlikely that you will find anyone who co incidentally has a screen shot from the time you need, sorry.

I have done a search, and there doesn't seem to be any reference to a 'happy hour' on the site, nor anywhere else on the internet. The list of 'auction types' on the site does not include any reference to happy hour. The fact that nobody else has mentioned this happy hour anywhere else on the internet suggests to me that you may be mistaken, unless there is something on the part of the site you can access when you log in? Are you absolutely sure that this was the offer?

Have you participated in a happy hour auction before? Was it successful ie did you get your money back?

I think your best bet would be if they run the same promotion again, although with their denial of it, that would suggest they are keen to forget all about it and unlikely to offer it again. As for archives, there is one large one at archive.org but these sites tend not to constantly save copies of web pages, often they only get the front page and only check periodically, so the chances of them having what you're looking for are low. With both above points that leaves you in a your word against theirs situation, and since it's them you are trying to convince it may be exceptionally difficult at best and impossible at worst.

  • If it didnt actually say "Get all your single bids back this hour" or something similar in the ticker, then I don't think you have a leg to stand on...
