 How can 18185,s 10p a minute apart from weekends be the cheapest option when Talk Talk only charge 12p peak and 7p cheap (evenings) to call a mobile anyway, thats without the Free 20% prime number discount and the cheap 25% mobile saver discount.

Just with the 45p a month 25% mobile saver discount your only be paying 9p peak and 5.25p cheap (evenings).
18185 charge 6p/min on weekdays and 3.5p/min at weekends. 1899 is slightly cheaper during weeknds at 3p/min.

If TalkTalk haven't blocked the short-code number. If you have to use the 0808 access number then it's 10p and 3p.

If the OP just has calls with TalkTalk and not done the unwise and moved line rental to, then they could still use 18185 and 1899 no problem with the short code.
It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!

Yes but i am comparing prices against the 18185 0808 access number not the short code,as was Heinz.

She cant use the indirect codes if she has moved her line rental to Talk Talk, and even if she has not, 5.5p evenings still beats 18185 6p.

Hi Stompa, it was the call checker that made me post in the first place as reading about making cheap calls to mobiles is what confused me in the first place :rotfl:

Ypaymore, I know we don't pay BT separately for the line. I was under the impression that Talk Talk do that for us so we still have a BT line. I could be wrong though as this is the first time I have moved across from BT and not sure how it all usually works.

So should I put my mum's number on the calling circle and pay the 45p a month bolt on or should I use one of the short codes?

I think I'm now even more confused, but then it doesn't take much :rotfl:

If you are paying Talk Talk for your line rental together with your call package, the chances are they have blocked the short codes.;)

I've also been looking to see if I could get cheap line rental without having the short codes blocked and it seems that Primus offers this. From previous posts it seems that they offer line rental at £10.49 and don't block short dial codes, so I was going to take both Primus Line rental and Primus Saver then used the short codes.

But,.....I think I might have found the line rental cheaper through a couple of comparison sites, xxxxx and confused.com. Has anyone else seen this offer? What is Primus line rental like? Advice please.

I smell spam two posts by a newbie highlighting a recently regd comparism site.
