Hiya guys wondere if u can help me at all
When i bought my lap top about 3 months ago it came with Norton already loaded on a trial now that trial has ended i want to uninstall it and get something lighter to use on my laptop.
the problem is i have looked at the uninstall instructions and it says i should uninstall norton thorugh the normal routine of using the add/remove function in windows xp control panel.
Now i have looked at this list several time and it is not one of the programs that is listed that i can uninstall in fact its not mentioned anywhere.
Does any one have any idea as to how to uninstall Norton as i just cant find anyway of removing it.
Thanks in advance
James

I reckon Zone Alarm is a bit naff, But thats in my humble opinion
and knowing what I know I use Sygate.
And AVG AntiVirus.
And Adaware.0 -
yeah downloaded AVG antivirus already never heard of sygate before is it a free to use program?
and i use spybot search and destroy for any of the other little bugs that lurk about lolSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580 -
another vote for sygate.....converted from Zonealarm as it would not support networking in the free version

If you use zonealarm, thats OK, as the two dont run side by side
and sygate is free if you do swap to a new firewall, download it then disconnect from net then uninstall old firewall software then install new
if you do it online you could be attacked.
Dont forget AVG is best in safe mode for scanning only, usually tap F8 on start up then run for a thorough scan0 -
sorry AVG doesnt run with Spybot?? or sygate doesnt run with spybot? im confused as to which one u were referring to mr skint lolSavings Total so far for 2023: £8,062.580
