help with code for ringing kansas america on mobile
my brother has gone to kansas america and has bought a cell phone over there.he has just rang me on his mobile,he had tried to ring our mum but she was engaged so she tried to ring him back but cant get through its saying number not reconised
do i need a dialling code and then press his mobile number?
if so any ideas on where to find it?

You should be able to dial the number from either a landline or mobile. It should be shown as 001.... or +1.... with 10 more digits (1 is the country code)
But dialling it direct like this would not be the cheapest way.
Take a look at the MSE Callchecker for ideas -from a landline, the access numbers starting with 0844 cost from 0.5 p/min. From a mobile, you'd set up an account that works via an ordinary area code (e.g London) access. For both these methods you dial the gateway number then the destination, perhaps followed by #, according to the spoken instructions (you don't need to listen to them all the way through for every call). On the mobile, don't press the green dial key after the second number, as this sets it up as a second call
And as well as that, advise your brother to look for cheap methods such as a calling card access from the mobile, as dialling international calls direct can be expensive (unless it's a mobile brand that has these cheap, such as Tuyo)
Also, he pays for incoming calls on the mobile, so it might be worth finding out a landline where he's staying0
