I work as carpet fitter.I,ve always found that these big companies have a number of their staff who are selling carpets one week and are selling something else the next week.
I.ve always felt that people would be better off going to the small local carpet shop as the owner has probably been working with carpets for years. You generally get much better advice, as the owner has a invested intrest to keep there customers happy.
Alternatively, you could contact the N.I.C.F.(national institute carpet fitters) on there website,as they have a list of fitters,in your local area, who could fit your carpet and also supply the carpet as well,if required.
I live in Worcester Park,Surrey, and do a lot of supply and fitting. There are a lot of advantages to doing this way as the fitter brings carpet samples to your home, saving you having to trek around the shops,he can measure and estimate how much carpet is required on site, saving you having to wait for an estimater to visit and it,s usually cheaper as they don,t have the overheads of a big store.0
