Fuzzi Bunz - Anyone Using Them???

Hi All,

Am looking into using all in one reusables for my daughter, she is just 1 but quite big. I have seen Fuzzi Bunz online and think they look good, being a quite slim all in one without the need for a seperate waterproof cover.

Do any of you use them? Any advice please.ie.how many to buy, what boosters, liners etc How do I wash them? Where can I get them cheaply?

OR do you recommend a different brand?

Thanks All.
Al.

If they are, head over to the Families board and search there. There are several nappy threads over there ...

Hi, we use Fuzzibunz on our daughter who is 8 months. They are pretty good though do need changing fairly frequently if you are using their micro-inserts. However you can stuff them with other things like prefolds, 40cm terries or hemp inserts. We got them as they are foolproof for nursery and poppers are a lot more tricky for inquisitive little hands to undo than velcro!

Are you currently using cloth at the moment? Also, what are your drying facilities like? This will affect which nappies to go for.

Anyway, before you jump in and buy too many I would suggest getting one to try first. Have a look on ebay or you could try the classifieds on the nappy lady website (https://www.thenappylady.co.uk).

    Thanks Alley,

I am using disposables at the mo, tried cloth a while ao (modern baby) but found them too bulky. We only have warm air heating here but are moving in december to a place with radiators and the mother in ;aw is shouting us a tumble dryer :j so that should help out with drying.

How do you find them to wash & dry? I have just found a large one on ebay and bought it so should be in the next few days. Will give it a try. What inserts/boosters would you recommend I use?

    Thanks,
    Al.

FuzziBunz don't work at all well for my lad. he has thin waist and thighs, so the poo escapes out the leg holes as it squishes when he sits as minimal elastication on leg holes. He's 1 too.

We got a free sample from our council, so didn't cost me anything thankfully! Wash and dry, quicker for the wrap than inner. wrap is dry within a few hours, the inner takes between 12-16 hours on the airer with no heating on overnight.

Started with Bambino Mio...avoid these like the plague! My wraps developed holes in the middle of the waterproof lining.

We're now onto Motherease birth 2 potty nappies and they're okay, although you have to make sure the wrap is completely covering the inner nappy, else the wee wicks onto the clothing.

If you do like fuzzibunz and decide to buy from new, I can throughly recommend this company

    http://www.smartipantsbaby.co.uk/

They are more interested in the correct fit for the baby than making the sale, so they'll only sell you a few to start with to ensure all is well before you spend too much money with them.

  • I used Bambino Mio nappies for my son and found them to be great, but eventually found the Cotton Bottoms wraps to be better than the Bambino Mio wraps. Having said that, I didn't have any problems with holes in the wraps like bylromarha. You can get trial packs (one wrap and one nappy I think) from both Cotton Bottoms and Bambino Mio.

I would say that a lot of it is down to personal preference (and cost obviously!). I would love to have gone for some of the shaped nappies and wraps (tots etc), but it would have been a too expensive initial outlay for us. We started off with Cotton Bottoms but ditched those about 3 or 4 weeks in and got the fuzzis. However, I am now alternating with the prefolds again as I learnt a new fold, tryed it and liked it. I also use terries as well which are so lovely and soft.

The fleece of the fuzzis is great, because it really helps keep the damp away from the skin. My daughter is quite a slim little thing and we have never had poo leaks. When buying you most importantly need to use the thigh measurement to get the right size. If your baby is on the slim side, you may find that the petite toddler is more appropriate. But don't worry, fuzzis have a pretty good resale value, so if you don't get on with them you can always resell them on Ebay (or pass them on to me!!)! I just love the colours as well, perfect under summer dresses :j (yes I am sad and colour coordinated her nappies with her outfits).

Anyway, gotta go as the lovely munchkin is waking. I could talk about nappies all day, not good!

    Hiya :)

I think this thread is better suited for the familes board so I shall move it there for you.

  • Hi

We tried a number of different types of cloth nappies with our kids and found that during the day fuzzi bunz were great and looked good. However for nightime a seperate nappy with a booster and a wrap was better.

Try TReeHugger Mums at https://www.treehuggermums.co.uk - they have articles on cloth nappies as well as selling them. They also offer impartial advice via telephone or email.

    Hope this helps.

my fat 8 week old will soon outgrow his kushies size 1, they say up to 22lbs, he's about 15lbs. i read on here somebody saying kushies size 2 were too small for her 1 year old, so unless your baby is tiny the kushies might be best avoided. having said that i looked on ebay last week and they were going for peanuts so they might be worth it buying just one. i have found bambino wraps on the small side for my porky babe. little lamb size 1 are also too small. i'm glad i bought a selection to try rather than a whole set! ebay's good for that :-)

my council gives a £30 cheque if the health visitor signs a form to say you use washables :-)
