How much car fuel tax are you paying per year?
This works out your annual fuel tax based on your last fill up. It is quite scary - I'm payin nearly £2000 in fuel tax per year, add road tax to this and I think I should own a stretch of road out there. Talk about rip off britain.

It assumes a 12000 mile average but the lorry I drive does 12000 miles in 3 weeks so the truck is paying £58898 EXCLUDING VAT. Worst part is that its not a haulage company but a kitchen manufacturing company that has 40 lorries at my location alone.0

You can change the assumed average! This is really scary I never knew how much tax we paid!0

Not the best site. For instance I don't pay VAT, and my fuel is tax deductable. And I also mix DERV with SVO.0

I only do 5000 miles per year yet my fuel tax is £1009!!!!!" The greatest wealth is to live content with little."

It is such a rip off!
The biggest incentive I've ever had for getting a better MPG is the thought of all that TAX i'm paying.
VAT on top of fuel tax - what is that all about? Its double taxation if you ask me.0 -

Don't think you've done it write as it would mean you're only doing 11mpg - what you driving - a Hummer0 -
What made me see red was when I heard a reliable source recently state that, due to the high fuel price rises, the government has already made all the revenue it was due to make on introducing the 2p increase in April?! (fuel duty being a % of the total amount we pay per litre)
No wonder they backed down on that one, a no brainer! - Thanks for nothing again Gordon!!!!!!! :mad:Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle. :A0 -
£807.90 a year - based on 12000 miles (about what I do) in my Fiat Grande Punto 1.2 getting about 45mpg0

That's a shocker!
Unfortunately it's also something that drives small and medium companies to the wall when it makes the difference between a small profit and a loss. The man without a signature.0 -
I've got a new idea to supplement the chain e-mail that goes around. Buy your petrol, work out how much is tax, deduct that from the total, add VAT, and pay that price and do not agree to pay the tax, make it clear you are not paying tax, then drive off :rotfl:
Well the idea is as pointless as that chain e-mail.0
