As a buyer, if you select "View Order Details" form the summary page, the dispatch date is displayed on that.
Cheers Steve, as they say, you learn something new everyday!
Hmm, I don't know how an item I am waiting for was dispatched yesterday though :rotfl: (couldn't have been shoved in a postbox, it's too big) Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 :rotfl: (couldn't have been shoved in a postbox, it's too big) Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0

I've bought and sold a reasonable number of things on ebay over the years and would never contact a buyer to tell them i have despatched the item. I use mark as despatched on myebay and they can see it's been despatched on their myebay - I don't see the need to contact them as well.
As a buyer I've only had one or two emails saying your item has been despatched. I don't think it's a problem
I hate to tell you this, but I don't think it works like that. I've never seen anything on my ebay that confirms an item has been dispatched by a seller.
Hence, why I always send an 'item dispatched' message when selling.
Edit: I can't see the dispatch date on items I've purchased on the 'view order details' page either
Perhaps the sellers I use dont use their 'my ebay' page"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

I can see why sellers don't do it. i actually do it always as i like to be a bit business like with my sales but with the stupid new feedback rules where you can do everything right and still get negs from buyers who are going to neg you because the stamp was a bit skew , i just feel that people may be starting to feel like"why bother anymore!"0

As stevew says If seller marks item as dispatched it does show on order details.
So if buyer checks "view order details" in my ebay it will tell you if item has been dispatched and i think it gives date and time!
Apart from that i always send email to buyers thanking for payment and to tell them that parcel is in post but my DSR for comunication is 4.9 i do wonder if all messages get through! 0 i do wonder if all messages get through! 0

That's what I thought too! (Armitage)
In response to an earlier reply - it's not that I can't be bothered to email buyers but they get the invoice (where I state i will post within 24 hours of receiving payment) plus when I mark as despatched (they get a confirmation) so i don't see what another email adds.
I've never had any neutral or neg feedback and my lowest scire is a 4.6 (not for communications) and the rest are 4.8s.
What annoys me when I am buying something is the sellers who don't give feedback until the buyer has given feedback. A seller should give feedback on the buyer's buying - ie did they pay quickly.MS Stalwart. Used site for >10 years :jMake Do, Mend and Minimise member - focussing on upcycling/repurposing and sewing0

My custom dispatch email says something along the lines of "your item has been picked, packed, labeled and will be in the postal system within the next 12 hours" - As I work all over the place, I pack orders at night, mark as dispatched, and put them in the car ready to post the next morning.
I've often wondered if buyers get confused about receiving these dispatched emails at 11pm on Sunday - now I know!! <--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 <--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

There is enough evidence to suggest that buyers rarely read the listing description properly, let alone the corresponding emails!!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

I'm not sure that they do get a confirmation e-mail when you mark your E-bay item as despatched. I always send an e-mail to let each buyer know when their item has been sent, and have never yet had a complaint from someone for doing so!0

Only if you subscribe to Seller Manager pro at (£4.99 (ish) a month) does it automatically send an email.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
