HELP!! Windows XP SP3 update has killed my PC!!

I tried using Acronis to make a disc image on an 8GB (yes, just 8) spare drive from an 80GB main drive (64% free space). Apparently, there wasn't enough room and I've set it to make the smallest back-up possible (i.e. ignoring free space, etc.).
Anyone any ideas (apart from getting a new back-up drive)?:wall: Flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality - Am I flogging a dead horse? :wall:
Any posts are my opinion and only that. Please read at your own risk.0 -
Thanks for this info Geoff, one small question. Does this s/w need to be driven by an OS on the external drive or can it be driven from a desktop to format/partition a 'dumb' external storage device via a USB cable?
The reason I ask is to do with my experience with Partition Magic that stalled the desktop OS boot when trying to execute the partition & format operations on the Seagate.
I used it to format my 500Gb USB drive from FAT32 to NTFS with no problemsI'm not as good as useless0
