Bees ... where are they?

Someone I know, who bee-keeps for a living, says it's definitely nothing to do with mobile phone masts, they have sited hives right by them many times with no problems whatsoever.0

lots on my chives flowers, comfrey and those star flowers you put in drinks! Also lots in my conservatopry when I open the door, I spent a lot of time with a fishing net letting them escape! Think we need the right plants, most of mine are local ordinary ones.0

The mites that effect bees originate from those regions where Monsanto have been spraying crops with pesticides. The mites have become resistant to pesticides and are now in sufficient numbers and health to kill the bees. Many claim these super mites have been brought in living on imported food.
...Ah..thanks for that...yet one more thing M******o is responsible for then.....:cool:0 -

I've seen precisely 3 bees in total over about the last couple of months. Come to think of it - I very rarely spot butterflies either.
I do live in an urban area - but thats probably incredibly low even by urban standards.0 -
I live on a main road and I have a medium size yard garden(all pots).
Today I have had about 4 butterflies and about 8 bumble bees flying around at the same time.
The only time I see honey bees are when they come into the house looking very lethargic and clinging to my curtains or such.I've never seen one in flight for ages.0 -
I'm seeing bees all the time as we have a nest in the garden. They love one of the bushes we have and so have found an underground place to nest so that makes me think they are bumble bees. We just try and leave them be as they aren't doing any harm and so we don't add to dead bee numbers lol.I am a vegan woman. My OH is a lovely omni guy0

Two honey bees today, both looking alert and fresh, pollinating my strawberries.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
