We've had a few bumble bee's in the garden, massive ones  And some honey bee's too, some little bee's that look a bit like bumble bee's but shorter with lots of white

My Nan has got some old slabs and slate piled up like a step and I've seen LOADS of bee's going in and out of the gaps :T

We've had a couple of bees flying around. Saw a couple of bumble bees a couple of weeks ago and then today saw a little bee flying round by my lavender. It looks like a honey bee (In my superior knowledge lol!).

I didn't realise there were different types of bumble bee, but if you want to identify them there are some photos here:

I have a solitary bee that has included the clothes line in his teritory - he keeps driving me away:rotfl: (seriously, he/she does!!).

Lots of bees here in Sussex - honey, bumble and solitary. Just an oridinary small garden, but we have apple trees and a cherry, and small veg patch.

Yesterday I noticed a small hole into an outbuilding at ground level in our garden. I watched as a couple of bumblebees went in there and as soon as they did so a couple left. I've been watching, fascinated, ever since.

I`ve seen lots of bees in our garden - I`m in Birmingham.
They seem to love the cotoneaster.

Broad beans have had loads visit them all day today
  • Wouldn't it be interesting if we could have a "Bee Map" to see where exactly the bees are/aren't around the UK?

I know people could already say roughly what area they are in but it's not the same as being able to see it pictorially.

And I know all the species would be mixed up but at least it's something to go on - I am very glad that people taking an interest in where the bees are going.

I found a half eaten honey bee (I think not sure) in the greenhouse yesterday, only the furry bit of the back and the wings were left, what could eat it? I was wondering spiders, I have alot of them in the greenhouse, I encourage them to stay in there, but I'm not sure they could manage it.
