My voda contract has finally run its course and i'm looking to cancel it as its way too much for me.

I probably only use my phone for about 15 mins a week and a couple of texts.

I was looking at pay as you go options but voda retentions have rang me and offered me a few deals...

75 mins, 100 texts £8 a month on a 12 month contract
125 mins, 250 texts, £10 a month on a 12 month contract.

Both deals include a sony k770i.

Is this a good deal? I would probably sell the phone as my old one is fine and therfore I would almost have a free phone for the year.

Are their any other options to consider like cashback etc?

I would say that a straightforward line rental discount is always a safer bet than going for cashback. The £8 deal seems to cover your needs at the moment, although I would urge you to get a few more minutes and texts than you think you will need because it's expensive if you go over your allowances. Would they give you a better line rental discount without a new handset I wonder ....

Yes I agree with nell2. They may well offer you extra minutes instead of a new handset. In that case you might well stick with your current handset especially if it is reliable and happy with it

    thanks all,

surely the handset deal would be better though as if I sell that it will cover almost all of the cost of the line rental for the year.

what are the best cashback site around at the moment? Although as you say its not the best idea. I got burned a few months ago by phoneboxdirect!
