God choosing a bi fold company is a minefield. I had some a few years ago in my old house and it seemed to be much easier, there are so many companies now.

I ended up choosing Sunflex doors as they seem to come recommended by a few different people. Rang them direct and they gave me the details of local company called SKG who install for them.

Really pleased, the doors are great, installers were great, and worth paying a little more for. Although my husband say differently :)

Having spent a lot of time reading others reviews myself before buying doors i thought i would make my contribution to others choices.
I ended up needing to buy bottom rolling doors as the lintel i had would not take a top hung door. This meant i had to take what i could get and bought from a company called Living Design website foldingtimberdoors.com
The website looks great and very professional.
The actual company seems to be very small and I dont think any of the photos on the website are anything to do with them.
They are a nightmare and if you had any thought of buying through them all i can say is run while you still can and buy doors from anyone but them.
I wish someone had given me the heads up about them before i got caught. Having taken my money the owner of the company has showered me with abuse, sent doors that didnt have half the hardware and took extra money for express delivery then cancelled the delivery literally hours before they were due when i had workmen ready to install them.
4 months after delivery and the doors still cannot be secured.
I wish i could tell you where i would recommend but hopefully i can stop anyone else here getting into the same difficulties i have.

Had a really good experience as a customer so thought I would just quickly post about it. My builder had apparently ordered some anthracite grey bi-fold doors and a window from his regular supplier in Newport South Wales for our new kitchen (in Cardiff) but they did not arrive on time (after 2 and a half weeks which seems to be a standard lead time) and then when chased up they said it would be a further two weeks.

I took it upon myself to phone pretty much every bi-fold door supplier in the UK & Ireland! I must have spoken to about 30 different companies many of whom had listed products on their sites as available in stock only to be laughed off or told quite abruptly that the lead time would be 3 - 5 weeks. I luckily somehow stumbled upon a website for a Kent-based company called Rhino Aluminium - spoke to a director there called Andrew who was so friendly, positive and professional that it put everyone else to shame really.

Order was placed on a Friday I think, doors and windows were made from scratch and delivered by the company itself by the following Wednesday! Whilst there was a deposit payment they insisted on not taking payment until installation was complete (by our own builders) and we were completely satisfied. Very long warranty and piece of mind that we have bought from an incredibly efficient and personable company.
  • The house we moved into has I-D-Systems wooden folding doors. They were fitted in 2006 and in 2011 we found that the wood was rotting on the bottom section. After trying to contact ID systems and not being very successful because no one would return my calls and the warrantee may have just expired, I gave up. In September 2014 we had the doors repainted and on inspection found that there was a huge amount of rot on the bottom section and spending up the doors. On the advice of a tradesman I contacted ID systems and sent some photos of the problem because he could not believe how bad the doors were, I had a response the same day and I thought that they would be able to help. However after a couple of emails I could not get any response from ID systems. All I wanted was some advice on how to deal with the issue but no one bothered to help out, it appears that they would hope that I would just go away. I would not recommended ID systems because from my experience with them, the product is of poor standard and the customer service is a disgrace. If I can work out how to add photos on here then I will post them.
