Can anyone please help me set up my laptop to connect to the internet wirelessly..
Heres my current set up-main PC upstairs wired to Sky's standard white Netgear router.
I'd like to use a laptop downstairs wirelessly..
How do I set this up?My laptop will be wifi enabled but can I use the Netgear router to configure a wirelss laptop?
What do I do from here..?
Cheers as usual

When I bought a laptop to replace my PC the wireless network was configured automatically. Maybe that's because I use Vista; I don't know for sure.0

So are you saying that you did not have to enter any encryption key? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I don't think I did, no. Although I may have done but it was some time ago. I remember having to do that on the PC though.
Well if you didn't enter the encryption key, your wireless in not secure and it should be checked. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
I have had a look and I can't even find a place to enter the encryption key0

If your wireless network is not encrypted it won't ask for a key. If you connected your replacement laptop computer without entering a key, your wireless is not encrypted and others can connect to it.
Some may think that Vista is good but it's not that clever! Check that you are secure. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
