So reliable that their servers are now down again.

You really do have a downer on Jarmoll Sweetchuck, not down to them I'm glad to say >> info <<

Due to an issue with one of our backup generators, we've noted inconsistent power distribution to our CRACs (air conditioning units) and PDUs. Because these key components are fundamental to server racks, customers may note some downtime currently.
We have our data center operations and facilities teams checking the generators, CRACs, PDUs and racks to restore connectivity.
UPDATE: This issue appears to only affect phase 1.

Yes; I am becoming increasingly frustrated by their frequent downtime. Server 2 goes down far more frequently than I would like, and this has implications for me being able to send/receive e-mail and use my website.

I know that this particular situation may be outwith their control, but it's not an isolated incident: twice in the fortnight before this happened, I had to log onto their forums to let them know one of their servers was down... AGAIN.

I'm going to transfer to Heart Internet as soon as my e-mail forwarders are working again.

Well, I'm glad for srj's link because it's the first site out of about ten so far that I've looked at to see what a site hosted by Jamroll looks like that actually works and has something on it!

I registered with Jamroll over a week ago, validated my account, redirected the nameservers from 123-reg and... nothing. Can't log in. Found a thread just for this very thing in the Jamroll forums and the last post on there was in July 2007. That, together with the comments above about it being down a lot, makes me wonder whether I should bother. Due to the above link though, I think I'll persevere, for now..

I dont know why people bother with jamroll, totalk waste of time if you ask me. They are down a hell of a lot. you can get cheap hosting from as little as $1.99 / month so around £12 a year.

Its also funny why the only link here thats working here is srij above and he's the only one saying they are great. Spammer or from jamroll?? I wonder ?? srinivasjhawar@yahoo.com hope you dont get spammed (too much)

There is a link on their site showing plenty of sites hosted by them. Perhaps they're paid ones.. *shrug*. Anyway, I decided to redirect my domain's nameservers back to 123-reg, but thought it would be only fair of me to email them to let them know. I found three email addresses on the site for Jamroll staff: they had .co.uk endings which made me wonder if they were old.. but I emailed them anyway.. All three were returned undelivered..

I was going to post in their forum, since the validation email said that I could post there without having to register. However, when I went to post it 'said' I needed to register.. I'm registered with quite enough sites without having to register just to do one flippin' feedback post; and not worth it for 'help' as there are lots of ignored 'help me please' posts on there already.

That's enough for me. I'll check out some of the other freebie ones around, including some that are still lurking around in my bookmarks, then I'll check out some paid ones if no joy with the free ones.

:)

My problem with jamroll is that the instructions on how to do things is very lacking. I ended up registering with the forum so that I could post questions to the admin staff. This proved highly successful and I would recomend that you do it. They do manage to fix things eventually even if you are one of the free users(like me).
