hope th emove goes smoothly - I take it he's oblivious to today's activity?
Yes and we really hope he stays oblivious. He's said that he'll see her six-feet under before he'll let her go. He's done some pretty horrid stuff in the past; he recently wrote her car off by crashing it so she couldn't leave, threw out all her shoes so she couldn't walk. He's made her really dependent on him for everything and I'm only involved again because her sister asked for help. We'd said a couple of years ago that we weren't prepared to stand by and watch / do nothing while she risked her life staying with him (explained bruises to her face, chest and arms as the result her falling down the stairs while drunk). too terrified to do anything because he hadn't said it was ok to do it!
We felt like the most evil people in the world but we had to walk away two years ago as she wasn't prepared to leave him then. Now she is leaving so we're going to get her out today.
She's just texted, so I'll be back later today.

Morning  Today I am mostly studiously avoiding updating my diary so that I don't have to admit to the £200 we have put on my credit card this weekend.

ooo - buy anything interesting? I'm off shopping for in a bit for some pretty trainers.
BTW - I was that just like Natasha as a kid and managed to make it to a fair old age without anything too serious. terribly bumpy head though!:oMortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Sounds like you need an all over body cast for her... not bubble wrap! lol!
Anyone know of a company that makes bubble-wrap suits for babies? I have the clumsiest, most accident prone little girl that was ever born. She has only had her cast off for a few days, and already she has bust her lip, bumped her head (about 6 times), pulled the wine rack over onto her (luckily there were only a few bottles in it, and they missed her as they fell out), trapped her fingers in the kitchen cupboard, fallen backwards off the sofa and got stuck in the small gap between the sofa and the toy chest.

Well hugs and best wishes for it all. My situation wasn't physical violence, more mental abuse but I know its a big step to move away. His actions suggest he knows he's losing control. Hopefully he's as big a coward as his bullying suggests and he'll let her go.
More hugs!! (never too man7 at these times)

Cat, I had a friend in a similar situation but there was no happy ending - still there putting up with the same rubbish and cutting herself off from everyone who cares. I hope your friend manages to move out and get some peace in her life. xMortgage OP 2025 £7050/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Hi Skint - the really crap thing is that we didn't buy anything we REALLY needed, we were just sick of all the scrimping and scraping, and bought a few bits and pieces - 2 of those extension lead/splitter thingies, a new loo seat (actually that was definitely needed!) a bathroom cabinet, raincoats for the kids, some shorts for Stu (being optimistic about the weather I think ), a new summer jacket for me (bright red! I never do bright colours but suddenly got fed up of feeling mumsy), 2 pairs of shoes, new cup for Tasha, a bag and a purse.

Oh and new bathroom scales which I am hating because they are saying I am 5lbs heavier than I thought.
IA - I think she will end up in a full body cast at this rate anyway! :rotfl:"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
At least I wasn't as naughty as a friend of mine who went out at the weekend 'window shopping' in Manchester, and came home with a Chanel handbag and not much change from £1500!!!!
Edit - oh hi GingerSte, sorry, only just noticed your post!
