Buying from HONG KONG?
Comments
-
I've had a couple of things from HK so here are my tips.
Always pay by card, you can then chargeback for non-delivery.
If you are a paypal verified memeber pay using that, you can chargeback against paypal and they sting the seller a tenner for it too. (if your not verified they charge you a tenner too so go read up on it!)
Always use trackable postage.
Do not:
Pay by Western union
Pay a third party
Send cach to a UK PO box
Pay by fastchex, bidpay Etc.
Buy from a seller with less than 40-50 good RECENT feedbacks for PROPER auctions (go read 20 items from their history, and make sure they are not 25p auctions for feedback boosting).
That'll do for now.0 -

I can't see what the problem is. Just buy one.....there appear to be some on e-bay just bid.
I am assuming its the Sharp one.0 -

The problem is buying one from hong kong! If you can't offer good advice or say anything nice then don't bother!

I didn't mean to be rude and I'm sorry you took it that way.
From what I saw u were interested in a cable for a Sharp mobile phone?? ??? ???
I wrote this in a hurry and what I meant was there appeared to be quite a few even from the UK.
However I might be mistaken.
I try to offer help when I can and agree my last note was a little curt.
But I think you were a little touchy!
The general consensus on here is that if you want to buy from Hong Kong you are relatively safe.
If you are not happy with that little bit of risk then you should buy in a store in the UK, but you pay for that service.0 -
sorry Hinzta it did sound a bit "sharp" but I jumped and yelled at you
yes I am a bit touchy at the mo! I suppose I am on the defense all the time, I keep being stung by ebay thats why I am being extra careful! I have bought a cart from HongKong but it is for my little brother and I haven't had time to check it yet!
I keep paying for things and they haven't turned up !! I have done 2 chargebacks through paypal due to this and have been told can't do anymore at the mo, so have to be extra careful!
>:( watchit Stavros you'll be next :-*

Hi Angelcake
You nearly got both barrels last night...glad I didn't....lol
I am fighting with ebay as well.
Seller took my money and legged it (US seller) in May with £60+. Ebay have now said I will get £41 back but they are still messing me around they want e-mail and fax of my bank details to wire transfer the money. Except the fax number is not working (suspect its in Germany) wrong codes. Have e-mailed them to tell them that but no reply in over a week.
I have a malicious buyer who has spoilt one auction already by using BIN and on the margins I am on need the turnover to make it worthwhile.
What gets me are these huge e-mails from e-bay that fanny about and do not address the problem., Their idea of customer service is make it as hard as possible to complain and folk give up. Bit like budget airlines I suppose.
All in all I just find everything so bloody time consuming.
Hope you find your cable.0 -

I can relate to you with this! I complained about an ebayer who didn't have the items for sale and was threatening a neg if I don't give him the money, all I got is one of the standard emails explaining where to look the relevant articles in "help" They couldn't even be bothered to read my email because they sent me the wrong links. I sent back "if you actually spent the time to read my email then you would know........." but they just sent another one with different links to the "help!
They charge enough in ebay fees to be able to employ decent staff to deal with these descrepancies!
