Akward Buyer - Any advice?

Hi,
I sold an item a few weeks ago for £7 ples £2 postage. The buyer kept emailing me asking when it will be sent etc, to which i replied. It went out recorded delivery a few day later. But the day i sent it he then asked for a refund as i had been messing him about with the dates of delivery.
So emailed him back saying it was already sent and if he did not want it to return it to me for a refund inc the postage he paid.
Now a week later he is asking for my address to sent it to aswell as a refund of the postage he would send it by. I then replied saying i would only offer the postage he paid and not the postage on re sending the item back to me.
I then got another email today asking for me to send him the refund now aswell as a postage refund to send the item back to me. I said no only when i get the item back.
Now i really feel like telling him to stick it, but i have over 700 feedback and is now 100% (2 negs 4 years ago but new feedback format says 100%)
Any advice on what i can do? Also this item is something that needs to be registered to be active so it not worthless when it is but does de-value it. I did say i would check this aswell and if it's active then a refund would not be given.
And now my head hurts

If he has just changed his mind I would stick to your guns and just offer a full refund of the original payment made once item is returned as sent. However you will almost certainly end up with a neg. Even if you refund in full both ways you might still get a neg.
My only question here is how long was there between the date it was paid and the date it was despatched?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. The date it was paid was a Friday afternoon and it was sent on Tuesday.
Now i did not get the buy it now email untill i got home from work late Friday. My post office was closed Sat, Sun & Mon (BH) i think he got it on Thursday.
Just had this email[FONT=arial,sans-serif]hi what i ma saying make a payment of 2.00 pounds in my paypal account so i can sent the item back you want 1 or 2 recorded.0 -
Personally then I would explain that you ar ehappy to refund his original payment in full but will not refund return postage and once you get item back in the original condition you will refund. leave it at that.
Even if he does try a paypal chargeback for nay obscure reason he won't get the return postage back.
if it means a neg, so be it, he sounds odd enough to neg you whatever you do anyway.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. to be honest I doubt you'll be able to make any head way with him what ever you do. So personally I'd ditch the offer of the postage refund..0 -
seriously though, I'd just refund him. you'll only be a couple of quid down and will save you getting a neg.0
