Don't think about the mug for a second, think about the bigger picture?
The bit I have highlighted in bold is where I disagree with you. I think I am owed something. I am owed the common decency that says I will be treated in exactly the same manner as my English counterparts.
PGTips or rather Unilever, are happy to sell their goods in Scotland and take Scottish money the same as English but for some reason they don't feel any moral obligation to treat us all the same when it comes to promotions or perks.
And as far as I'm led to believe now, the only reason some of these promotional packs are appearing in (parts of) Scotland is because the Supermarkets themselves have chosen to send out to certain areas depending on their distribution centres. No thanks to Unilever.
So whilst a freebie mug isn't all that important to me (although it certainly was for my daughter), I'm more than a little cheesed off by the realisation that I'm part of a culture whose money is willingly taken but is not worthy of any other consideration.
We each have our own order of importance. This is obviously not an issue for you. I daresay there will be things that you feel strongly about that would wash over me. Each to their own. Unfairness tends to stick in my throat generally and this is an unfair situation imo, so instead of simply mouthing off about it, I chose to make my point in a constructive manner to the company concerned. If you feel I should not have complained then I accept your opinion, but we will need to agree to disagree on this one.
Incidentally, I travelled a 70 mile round trip the other day visiting 1 city and 3 towns in connection with something else. I took the opportunity of checking out the supermarkets - 4 Tescos, 2 Morrisons, 1 Somerfield, 2 Co-ops and no-one was aware of the promotional packs let alone seen one. So whilst I'm happy that the good folks in Oban may be able to lay their hands on a W & G mug.. it doesn't help the rest of us much.
Edited to add: I wrote the above to try to explain why I was annoyed at the situation...I'm honestly not trying to be argumentative.Herman - MP for all!0 -
Its's not just scotland though, I think there's still a few areas of england that aren't getting supplies either! My mind not only wanders .......... sometimes it leaves completely0

HERE HERE!!!! I whole heartedly agree. This is very unfair!! My three year old son is Wallce and Gromit mad and he gets so excited when he sees the mug. Like the previous poster says, Unilever are quite happy to take out cash so why cant they show us the same dencency and give us the same promotions.
I intened to go to my Asda everyday on the off chance that they do get some in, its a Walmart Asda so a big one. Fingers crossed. I have also begged all my online English friends to track one down for me. I might end up with more than one but rather that than none!! lol If not i will be back here asking for someone to get me one!!!!Bringing up 2 handsome boys and 1 gorgeous girl the MSE way!Joseph born 19th December 2001Matthew born 8th August 2007Tara born 23rd January 20110 -
I accept that lady_noluck....but Unliver themselves stated that they chose to only distribute in England. If they had distributed more fairly then those who didn't find a promotional pack would have been happier to put it down to luck of the draw I think?Herman - MP for all!0

Gromit is full of surprises. And the same is true of our exclusive mug. Brew up a cuppa and watch his nose change from black to red. What's more, it's completely free with our special packs of PG Tips 160s. But hurry, as there are only a limited number out there.
