Credit Card Limits

CAPITAL ONE - they say they increase limit after 3rd statement and before 4th statement....if I make a payment immediately on receipt of 3rd statement then how long after that will I receive my increase, and what will new limit be (I am currently on £200).

Also does anyone know what BARCLAYCARD INITIAL procedure is for credit limit increases (ie. when and how and how much?).

  • My wife has a Cap1 card and was made the same promise. She has had the card for twelve months, paid on time every month, sometimes clearing the balance and others clearing 50% one month then clearing the following month, and her limit has remained the same!

Your limit increase will happen when your 4th statement is issued and if your on £200 and have run the card within the T&C your limit will go up to £500

It doesn't. It just stays the same!

Give them a ring and see what they've got to say. You can quote the clause from their Ts&Cs about the limit increase after fourth month.

Yes it does, stay with in your terms and conditions and they up your limit on your 4th statement, like they say in the increase notification letter "You kept your promise so we have kept ours" and they moved my limit from £200 to £500 and dropped my APR from 34.9% to 30.04%.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

Not my wife's experience I am afraid. She kept her part of the bargain and Cap1 didn't!
