£30 Transfer Fee With Portman B/S

Not sure if it has been mentioned but from 1st January 2005, Portman building society have been imposing an "administration fee" of £30. to transfer an ISA top another provider, see HEREand choose any of the ISA products, as they all have the same statement.

I don't have any Portman products, and I don't know if/when/how they notified existing customers about the changes you mention taking place at the start of the year.

However, and to be fair, this £30 charge is mentioned very prominently throughout their website. It's not hidden away in the small print so new customers "should" be aware of it when considering applying for a Portman ISA.

Yes it is prominently displayed, but not everyone "sees" the T&Cs. I was just pointing it out whilst looking at various ISA providers bearing in mind the uproar not so long ago re A&Ls £25 transfer fee, and of course they have now removed that fee.

I wanted to point out that the fee is not retrospective. So if you opened your isa prior to this change there will be no fee!
