scared i am losing my 19yr old cat

thanx all for the lovely replies. it bought a tear to my eye - not wishing to be over dramatic! i can happily report my little old man is battling away. he is eating ok (always been fed on fresh chicken & turkey!). he still makes a little snuffly sound when he is eating - u think he is choking- but the vet warned us this amy help as he will have to completely clear hislungs etc & impotantly he hasnt been sick or worse sneezed which may recreate the bleeding. i couldnt function at all on sat night /sunday morning, i just didnt want to go to sleep for fear of him dying alone without anyone at his side. bless him he was walking about appearing like a drunk wobbling a bit. but when i woke up (after dozing off on the sofa) he cried his distinctive miaow & i felt such huge relief. my husband said he is getting back to his demanding grumpy self - which is fine by me! he will hopefully reach his 20th birthday in august. i know his time will come but anyone who has ever loved a pet & those of you who replied are included its so hard to accept their mortality. i lost a baby guinea pig in sept last year & battled & won to save his brother but it was no less of an upset as to what you feel if your pet has been around for afew more years. you can probably tell i absolutely adore all my little animals they are part of my family just as much as my husband & daughter. thanx you again for your warm & sincere replies. it picked me up to read that people care about someone/something that they dont know. on behalf of boz & myself thanx!

Glad to here Boz is feeling more like himself, I've been checking back to see how he is. Sounds like he knows he is well loved. There is nothing more horrible than being stuck in limbo not knowing how they are going to be.

Glad to hear you're both feeling better. I have a geriatric cat (18yr old) you just have to remember that like us, they have good days and sometimes not so good.
