getting out of contract

I have a t-mobile contract which expires in October.

I am unhappy with the service, hidden costs and handset which is continually breaking down. How can i get out of it early?

I am thinking of just not paying the last bill until it goes to a collection company, then paying it as an end to it. They are welcome to the crappy handset, which is due to go back for repair anyway.

Anyone have any experience with this scenario? I really dont want to have to pay my contract up in full.

If it goes to a collection agency it will damage your credit rating and youll end up with additional fees which could be 100s.

Is there a get out clase in your contract?

O2 contract states if they change any of their charges and it will result in you being worse off or something like that you can cancel.

    what are the hidden charges?

maybe ring cosumer advice about the poor service as your paying for their service and the suppy of goods and services act 1982 states all services must be supplied with reasonable care and skill.

  • Hi - can anyone help - I pay £27 line rental on Tmobile flext £35 (got a reduction + includes VAT) - charges are: 10p texts, 20p calls anytime, anywhere + pictures 20p. I usually end up paying around £36 a month though as I seem to use up the £180 credit fast - is my tarrif high or do I just talk too much!!??

Also, I pay £5.99 on Tmobile insurance evry month through Phone Safe - is this high too?

    Thanks,
    K

you will completely screw up your credit file. just pay the four months off early if you can afford it. if you cant is it really worth messing up your credit file for four months?
  • Flext plans are 20p per minute regardless of length of call be it 2 seconds and no-one answers or 59 seconds it will be rounded up to the 1 minute charge of 20p. I have just been stung and am not a happy bunny.

Check your plan on their website and click on the legal stuff button at the bottom - it's an eye opener - well was to me.
