Bl**dy stupid international buyers. Sold a clearly marked "used" book to someone in Germany. Got an email today complaining that it was used and they were going to leave negative feedback. They only paid 55p!!!!!! Huge detailed list of all the 'problems' with the book - including, believe it or not, a "4cm crease in the spine".

I was left a Neg by someone who refused to pay me!! By an International Buyer!
I was happy to let it drop - re-list get on with life. but no. She negged me!!!
So I just had to neg her back.0 -
Politely direct your buyer to your listing pointing out where you said the book was used (and perhaps any other details if you put them).
If you clearly stated the book was used then its certainly not your fault you buyer was a plonker who didn't read the listing correctly. Is your buyer a new ebay user? Whats their feedback like?
Unfortunately you can't stop them leaving negative feedback but if the do then you can reply to it with your side saying that the person didn't read the listing correctly.Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Ban Newbies from Ebay!
Ban the Americans!
Ban stupid people!0 -
I sold a book to an American - one brain cell in her. She did not contact me at all, just left a negative!!!!!! She had a good rating (82) with one negative. But when I checked what she was leaving for others, she merely decided whether she wanted an item after a sale, if not, then neg'd!!!!!!!
I agree, ban the yanks!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
I don't think you should ban newbies, you were one too once, right? So was I and I had to learn along with everyone else. Perhaps better education of newbies would be better, rather than letting them loose on ebay when they haven't read any of the instructions  .
I wouldn't ban American either - some US ebay members are my best customers!
I would ban stupid people (and rude ones). All of them regardless of where they're from :rotfl: .
Ebay ought to introduce a new feedback rating of 'complete muppet' so we at least can be warned!Ebay~ A wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Recently I bought something which turned up dirty and stained. However, I did not like to leave negative feedback without first contacting the seller. The item came to less than £5.00 but about £3.50 of that was postage.
I did write very politely that I was not happy with the item, that I did not want to leave negative feedback, and nor did I want the trouble of sending the item back.
I suggested they refund me half of the money and we would call it quits or if they really wanted the item back to let me know. They wrote back a nice message and apologised that they sent out many items and did not always check them all. They refunded me the half amount and we were both happy.
Pretty sure this kind of situation cant always be resolved , but luckily this turned out good. Then I could leave positive feedback about the way they dealt with me - the speedy delivery etc.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01
