Sorry to start a thread with this one. BUT somebody was looking for this in Asda and couldn't find any - seemed to start some speculation if there was going to be a shortage of the stuff, an excuse to do away with the SP version, OR an excuse to suddenly replenish at a higher price. I have searched for the original thread but can't find it anywhere.
Today in my Asda (Huyton, Liverpool) it was back on the shelves in it's usual packaging marked 26p but marked on the shelf at 10p! There were lots of them so I got three to be going on with. However, they were not in their normal place on the top shelf near the gravy stuff. They had been shifted down to the bottom shelf - so the rule, as always when bargain hunting, is 'eyes down'!
If one of the board guides knows where that other thread is lurking, maybe one of you could move this for me please :T - thank you!

Hi Olliebeak,
Well spotted.....I'll keep an eye out in my local asda for some. It was maman in the lamb shanks thread who was looking for cornflour.

Hope you don't mind me adding this,:o (I didn't want to start a new thread)
I think it is a misprice,I have ordered some Great Scot Broth Mix 19p for 500g from asda online to be delivered tomorrow.I am sure it is normally at least 68p
Anyway go into -tins and Packets - select vegetables -select dried veg & pulses and the dried broth mix packet is in there.
Also lemon Juice the plastic jif lemon shaped one is coming up at 5p.
I will find out tomorrow if they actually have it or it's amazingly out of stock:mad:

Now how come my beady-eyes missed those in-store today! Maybe not in my local one - I was scouring the dried veggies/pulses section. Strange how Asda only do Organic pulses and not ordinary ones - they are a bit high in price!
I've posted my good bargains for today (if anybody is interested) in the 'Asda silly prices' thread on the 'Shop but don't drop' board.0 -
I think it is online only,I will have to wait and see if they turn up.0

I believe there is some global problem with cornflour at the moment has caused demonstrations somewhere like Mexico because of price of tortillas. In my experience, Asda do sell off things they are discontinuing so maybe that's why it was 10p in Huyton. I bought some in Mr T yesterday (as advised by an OS). I'd advise buying it in when you see it just in case!0

I went to Asda yesterday and noticed that loads of smart price stuff were way cheaper on the shelf price than the packaging price, maybe they are redesigning the packaging or something, but this is not just cornflour.Grocery Challenge Feb 14 £500 / Spent £572.10!
March 14 £500 / spent £488.45 :j0 -
I concur with pinkparrott; in my local Asda (Dunfermline East) all the SP stuff is a penny or two less than what's on the packet...always! I think it might have something to do with them having different prices in different stores, or even it might be a (not so) subtle marketing ploy to make you think you're getting a bargain!#145 Save £12k in 2016 Challenge: £12,062.62/£12,000.00 Beginning Balance: £5,027.78 CHALLENGE MET
