Aren't places legally obliged to display the prices somewhere (out of sight and in a tiny font i'd imagine!) ?

Billie Rox is pants! I don't like it in there, the crowd that the place attracts isn't my scene shall we say? I've never seen them charge that much for a vodka red bull though. Last time we were in tehre, my mates bought a bucket for a fiver or something like that, but then again that was a special deal...

Most bars display their prices on a sheet of A4 down at one end of the bar with size 6 writing, just so you can see when you're stuck leaning over the middle of the bar trying to get served by the 2 overworked bar staff.


p.s. Fifth ave is good night out but you have to choose the right nights.

was it one of them !!!!!! clubs? what a rip off!! the most ive paid for double vodka and red bull is £3.40 in yates - even that was dear but i only had the one....it is usually about £2.50 in pubs.....

No it wasn't a !!!!!! club!!! I only went i there again because the first night they gave us free champagne! Will have to go to fifth avenue then. cheers

Local pub charges £4.80 for a single house whisky and coke.

I was shocked and dismayed - I refused to pay and was told that I shouldn't order drinks I wasn't going to pay for and I was causing trouble so leave. I kicked up a huge fuss and the landlord came over - I told him I thought that 4.80 for a single spirit was over the top and he informed me that the spirits were 1.80 a shot plus a small charge for the splash. The girl was fired that night for pocketing her 100% markup.

good on you - make a fuss all the time - i went in one local and they had started charging me double for my coke with my vodka cos i asked them to top the glass up with coke - they said that was double coke - i made a fuss and they stopped doing it.....i like to taste my coke when drinking...
