Refusing payment

Not sure at all where to post this but think this is probably appropriate for here.
The other night I was out and asked for the price of a double vodka and red bull but in a club it's hard to hear but I was sure she didn't say the price she came up with after I ordered the drink so I refused to pay, she went and got the supervisor who then said I basically had to pay which was £7.60!!!
This unbelievable for a student city like manchester and what annoyed me is he kept saying well come on a tuesday cause vodka and redbull is only 80p!
What I want to know though is am I entitled to say I won't pay even after they have made the drink because that is unreasonable I have never paid more than £7 for that drink and that is in a town that is more expensive on a night out.

  • Your well within rights to say you dont want it, they cant take your money...

Some bars charge and INSAINE amount for spirits.. I think I was charged the best part of 8 quid for a dbl red bull :s.. I said you've got to be joking, he suggested something else - I went with that :s
  • My worry was just that they might say it's been made buy it or leave!!! It annoys me when somewhere says yeah this is really cheap and then you buy something that's not on the list and it makes every other dirnk just as expensive as elsewhere!!!

'right of admission reserved' i think

which means if they dont like the look of you, you dont get in...

hang on you are already in........ :p
smile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to.... ;)
  • So LEAVE the club. If they are going to rip you off, why would you want to be there? Think about it. You can go to Sainbury's and buy Vodka (same brand as in club) at about a tenner for 70cl. (That's 28 shots). So about 70p for your double, plus the cost of a can of red bull.

Its been a while since I've been out in Manchester, but these prices are a complete ripoff.
  • Where did you go? o.O Thats crazy price for just one drink!
  • This is it it wasn't expensive when I went in there first but the second night was a friday so that was their excuse for charging about five times the price than on a tuesday night! Just need to find the good places I reckon.
It's was Billie Rox by the way which if you know it isn't that good anyway!!

It's student night somewhere in Manchester every week night....you just need to find out where. Your student loan won't last long @£8 a drink.
