Not Sure I would agree on that myself.
Its only my Personal opinion - but I stayed there last night (My usual Hotel was full), and lets just say it will be the last.
In the last 15 years I've stayed all over with business - and last night was the most depressing room I've ever stayed in.
There a big difference between a modern/minnimal look & a Prison Cell.
If the Bare featureless locked down Prison look is your bag - you'll certainley be impressed.
I was frozen to the point of pain - There was a teeny-tiny wall heater that gave out roughly the same heat as a dead cat.
Ok - No curtains - which would be fine - there was a Tracing-Paper-Blind that fitted a window. Pity it was not the window in my room....Not normally a problem - but when the window does not fit the 'actual building' either - and there's a icy gale howling through the room - and a 2 watt heater....you get my drift
Next; I went to do some work (Being Charged at £5 an hour for Wi-fi in this day and age....) at the tiny plastic-antique-teak desk in the corner. However, The Plastic Playskool chair supplied is not for sitting in.
After 10 mins I was so unforfortable I ended up on my knees at the desk.
I would have moved onto the bed - but there were no plug sockets in a 20 foot radius....
Therefore I resorted to the old fav - TV (Tiny 12 inch panel display)
6 Watchable Channels - And Channel 5 was in Blue.
But Don't expect to see much - as the screen is so tiny. And don't expect to hear much as any volume distorts over 28.
It was a miserable Prsion Cell - I was contemplating ending it - But could not jump out of the window - because the security latch was broke and the window did'nt open.
So I ended up going to bed at 9.30 (In a jumper)
Don't think I've ever been so miserable. I felt like Alan Partridge in his "TravelTavern"
But at least Partridge had an ok room, a resteraunt and a corby trouser press that he could take to bits....
I've never been one for the Chinzty B&B's - old old fashioned hotels - but this is place is completely at the opossite end of the spectrum and missed it by miles.
If your after "a bed" - nothing else (Heat, comfort, surroundings, entertainment excluded) and fancy being Partride for a night fine.
If not - get in touch - and I'll let you know some really nice places to stay that won't break the bank.0 -
