    every fortnight
I only check once a week to once every 2 weeks. As cash machines give out receipts if the balance is not what I expect I go online and them.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

    Why may I ask?

Because I don't see what's to be gained by doing so. If you need to perform transactions then fair enough, but it sounds a bit like people might be checking that often simply to make sure that there haven't been any errors or fraudulent activity - not a great endorsement of the banking system!

It's a great pity that all banks don't operate a similar system to Cahoot, where every time a transaction occurs on your account they'll send you an email telling you so.

If banks did that people would still check the online banking still as they want to check out goings and incomings as well as to see other operation on there account.
I check my account daily to makesure that payments that are due out have gone

I should have been clearer the Cahoot system notifies you whenever the account balance changes (I think!), so should enable you to spot any unexpected goings on.

I have had payments go out when not due to, and the system sounds pretty good as you say:D

Didn't get any emails when I was pulling cash out to move into much better rates...

Main account is with HSBC - tend to log in every 2 or 3 days, mainly to check stuff is going in and out as planned, hardly ever to check for dodgy transactions.

I check at least once a day. If the HSBC online banking wasn't so easy to use and well designed, I wouldn't access it quite so often. Good work HSBC.
