Thanks Naomi!
Hope I get the same results as you did, my mobile contract doesn't run out until December so I've got a bit to wait yet but I will look at this.x

I've not done too bad today, had a no spend day :j unfortunately tomorrow won't be the same, the fuel warning light came on as I was travelling home so I need to fill it up at some point so I can get to work tomorrow!
I've decided to apply for the Barclaycard mentioned above, not got a decision yet from them, they will write to me with a decision once they've validated a few things. Hopefully they'll accept.
My mum has lent me £100 to keep me going until the end of the month so I should be fine until then when I should hopefully be on top of my finances!0 -
At last off work again for a couple of days, still pretty shattered from doing lates.
Not really had chance to have a look on here so this is the first chance I've had to update.
Sunday I had to fill up with petrol, filled up with £38.01 and that didn't even give me a full tank! Only used to cost £35 maximum to fill it up a few months ago! I also bought a bottle of coke while I was there costing £1.09.
I've just started working airside at the airport as well so you aren't allowed to bring any liquids through so anything you want to drink you have to pay airport prices and going without anything to drink for 12 hours isn't a good idea. I bought a bottle of coke for 99p, the cheapest I could find.
Monday I spent 85p on a bottle of water but that was it.
Yesterday I saw an offer to buy a Daily Telegraph and get a bottle of Buxtons Water worth £1.40 for free. I didn't bring any food with me so I got some food from Boots totalling £4.78.
I've still not heard from Barclaycard about the credit card, hopefully something will arrive in the post later!0 -
No letter from Barclaycard today but got one from NatWest saying I've gone over my overdraft and they've charged me a fee for doing so.
I checked my account and I would have gone over my overdraft because of this but money was deposited into my account the same day meaning it wouldn't go over.
I hate banks.0 -
So did you actually go over the limit? If not call Natwest and ask them (politely) what they are on about! Happened to my OH a few months back, a DD went out earlier than expected putting him a few pence over his OD limit and his wages were then paid in less than 24 hours later. He complained about the £35 charge and it was refunded.0
-
Looking back at my account the DD was due out on the 5th and the money deposited went in on the 6th. They've charged me £38 for just going over my overdraft, just phoned them about this and they're insistant the charge will stand. :mad:0

I've had enough banks charging me far too much if I go over my limit. £38 is just far too much to charge. I've looked on here about reclaiming my charges and I've got the letters ready to send out to ask for details of my accounts and when I've got paid I'll send them out.
I've spent £22 on 30 pairs of contact lenses and spent £10.15 on my dad something for fathers day, got a few bits which I think he'll like just need to post it tomorrow.0 -
Just recieved a letter from Alliance & Leicester saying my account is £386.78 overdrawn and my limit is £250 and this needs to be looked at urgently.
Surprised by this because I checked a few days ago and my balance was just over the £250 limit and I have no direct debits at all on that account nor have I used my card for anything.
First thoughts were that it must be a typo or perhaps someone has been using my account. Worrying!
I logged onto my account to find £130 has gone out of my account. Alliance & Leicester have charged me £5 for every day I've been overdrawn so far totalling £130!!
I am absolutely furious about this, absolute robbery! As in this thread I've mentioned my problems getting money into this account, I've tried to get it under the overdraft. So what do they do, charge me a fortune not helping whatsoever!
I've phoned them up, hoping to be calm but I just went mental at them. They say the charges have been explained to me, I tried explaining I've tried to get the overdraft down but they say I should take it up with NatWest, no budging from them at all.
They said I could just close my account and sort out a payment plan for it. I said ok and they were transferring me to the credit control department before I put the phone down, want some advice before I do that.
I feel these charges are totally wrong, it doesn't help me at all. I was thinking I would be straighter and I could tackle the debts from next month. This just means that next month will be the same as this. Struggling to pay for everything.
I've seriously had enough of this.0 -
Please guys, could do with some advice here. Would closing my account be a good idea? Any negatives about this? Is there any chance of me getting Alliance & Leicester to scrap the charges?0
-
