can anyone tell me the cheapeast way to call the sim4travel sim card (apparenly a guersney/jersey uk mobile number) but the big phone companies are obviously not happy about it and wont allow you to call with your free minutes.
I have been calling a sim4travel number for 6p a minute via an override company from my landline but just wondered if anyone knew BT's rates in the evening/weekends or if a compan0y like 118115 (i think??) allows there weekend rate to this sim4travel or are you charged more??

help with what?
most cheap calls providers count it the same as UK mobiles, and 18185 should be fine, and is cheaper at weekends
some UK mobiles count it in inclusive minutes, but getting accurate info from them about it is quite tricky, particularly from O20 -

thanks for this does anyone know for suer or had any experience of which companies provide it out ofd inclusive minutes0 -
As you can see on the thread where you asked 3 months ago, someone now claims that Virgin have changed to charging for these
3 and Vodafone definitely charge, T-mobile and Orange I don't know. O2 has recently included these on mine, but it isn't clear whether that is happening on all contracts, or whether they will change it again in September
Surely you've had time to make a couple of trial calls in the last few months?0 -

sim4travel cards used to use Estonia or Lichtenstein numbers which were supported by the override companies, now they use a +44 7509 number which is a Jersey mobile code. From a BT landline you'll pay 28.5p/min during the day, 19p/min after 6pm and 9.5p/min at weekends. It qualifies for BT Friends and Family but not 'Best Friend'. It doesn't qualify for any mobile operators' free minutes and nor is it supported by 18866 or 1899. This appears to be the only downside of what is otherwise a good value global sim.
Hope this helps0 -

I'm not aware that Sim4travel have never had SIMs with Estonian phone numbers
I'm surprised to hear your good experiences of using overrride companies to reach Liechtenstein mobiles, as this has been problematical for more than 3 years. Perhaps you'd kindly recommend a couple.
My earlier comments in this thread are not hearsay, and I stick with what I said:
- the S4T phone number is reachable from 18866, 1899, 18185, JustVoip and others
- and: 10 May 08 12:24:14 075092xxxx3 Off Peak 00:00:08 0.000 F0 -

Redux, look at my post, I was replying to marko4ever25, not you. I didn't bother reading your posts. Now I have and see that you failed to answer his question anyway (costs from BT landline). So don't be so precious. In any case, until you can show me a link to an override provider's tariff for 07509 numbers then your comments ARE hearsay in my opinion..0 -

I'd already replied, and both your previous answer and this one contest what I said. Perhaps yopu didn't read the OP that carefully either
BT's own tariffs don't really matter, as BT is certainly not the cheapest way to call from a BT line - and the question was about cheaper calls possibilities, for example the 6 pence a minute the OP had already tried, and the specific question whether such as 18185 would work
Your claim that 18866 and 1899 cannot reach these numbers is untried conjecture, and is factually untrue.
Until you've actually bothered to attempt this, it is perverse to dismiss calls I and others have made today and on plenty of previous occasions in the last couple of years (for instance to make roaming mobile calls at from 4 to 6 pence a minute).
As I asked, I'd be glad to hear more details to support your remarks about using override providers to reach Liechtenstein mobiles, particularly which providers you found that were reliable.0 -

Well BT tariffs mattered to the OP or he wouldn't have asked for them. Your offhand dismissal is equally perverse. And where exactly did I say I'd used override providers to call Liechtenstein? I only said Liechtenstein could be reached using override providers as connection tariffs are quoted on the 18866 and 1899 websites. I made no comment regarding connection quality or reliability. Admittedly I did not intend to imply that 07509 numbers cannot be accessed through 18866 and 1899, simply that rates are not quoted, therefore it cannot be assumed that they will be any cheaper than a BT landline. I'd be glad to here more details to support your remarks about override providers treating 07509 as a UK mobile number.0
