Smlsave I couldn't let you put up with my dh swearing, banging about and general annoyance whilst he was putting up said curtain pole!
Don't you realise that's actually part of the ritual handed down from father to son ever since woman first set eyes on the latest DIY fashions that were sold as being so straight forward and simple to do, irrespective of location or tools? It's our way of appeasing the gremlins which dwell with mankind and who appear to us when we're making anything0 -
Just claimed £5.15 from TopCashBack which is nice, but am very, very annoyed with LateRooms who have failed to honour the £8.50 from a stay in May and indeed failed to track recent stay in Wales. TCB seem now to be ignoring my enquiries to them on this one as well :mad::mad::mad:
Thankfully Trustnet was back online earlier so I have been able to check on the investments position following some of minor drops last week on some exchanges. Actually our Funds are ok, sat at a total loss of 0.02% or as near as damn it - break-even, so I'm hanging in hoping that any fall now in Qtr4 will be less than the doomsayers have promulgated (no doubt to allow them to buy in at low cost because they didn't do so earlier!).
Have also been trying to gauge gas futures and I think it is time now we have 12months data to ditch the fixed gas and electricity pricing. In theory we could save £260pa, but have a £100 penalty to British Gas if we do so. Need to see what I can get via switching on TCB and then call BG to have a chat.0 -
November 2010 is looking good in my diary.....
Thanks for the offer StuartCan I pencil you in for the 13th Nov 2010? The gremlins should be so busy with everyone else they may not visit us :rotfl:I will of course let you know if the curtains should magically put themselves up
Hope TBC get back to you.
Re changing gas and electric, is the £100 penalty for ever or does it run out? I keep umming and ahhing about changing - would save bout £80 - but I like SE and am finding it hard to say good bye
Have to say that Npower say they could save me £130 but since they come knocking on my door 3 times a year I'd rather say poo to them.Currently studying for a Diploma - wish me luck

Was away last night and have just updated the ISA values and wow, hasn't the market lifted again!
Our Russia & Greater Russia fund is now only down 9.1% which is a great recovery. Our overall portfolio is now positive by 3.71% which includes the loss taken when we got out of Schroder 350 (we're 6.55% up on the present holdings if you ignored what we had done before).
Can't paste to Google docs to show you
However on my graphs, the red line has continued vertically almost and is now above the yellow. Also the trend line has moved round too a steeper slope too!
Yippeee :j:j:j0 -
Overall portfolio is now up 4.79% (more than 1% in a day, somewhat better than the savings rates!). Still struggling to get image to upload, will try again later.
OH car passed MOT (handbrake needed work in the service, but that was all), so about £245 in total as she also had to buy a spare key as we've mislaid the only spare and not seen it for a long time and it isn't sensible not to have a spare.
I've stopped buying the Excellium petrol as I've struggled to see a specific increase in economy, but, the weather has been cooling too so it may have hidden an improvement (i.e. mitigated lower economy figures). Will monitor over next month too.0 -
Hi Stuart, just popping in to catch-up with your thread as it's been a while. Looks like your offest and investments are perking up nicely - well done you!
I need to have a look at how my own share purchases are doing from the last year as I know they have more than doubled but would still like to put a figure to it. It's been a while since I've been able to [STRIKE]play with[/STRIKE] update my spreadsheet properly - my days have been super busy and just work work work and the only SS updating i've managed to do recently is when i make the OP's.
Hope you and your family are well
Regards

At last the graph was accepted by Google docs! You will observe that the red trend line which is the combined value of the funds, has changed slope significantly compared with earlier versions and thus shows the increasing rate of growth in value. Quite a nice picture I think (for the spreadsheet and money geeks!)0
