I think OH may have something to say about the (lack of) regularity of such incidents on my part.....
Meanwhile markets still not great, but our Neptune Russian & Greater Russia has dropped back quite a lot recently and is now 39.67% down, so I think it has justified the fact we've not invested in this since December 2008. Others aren't so bad with Threadneedle Latin America down 21.77% and Investec UK Smaller Cos down 14.81%. All of these have been invested in for a while whereas those invested in only since February 2009 are either down 3.6% or up 2.25 to 5.09% so a bit of a mixed result at 6months. We'll continue investing in all except Russia, which needs the oil & gas, and minerals demand to rise globally so we're likely to go back into this late 2009 or early 2010, plus once MF we'll add a couple of other funds to the portfolio (presently thinking commercial property or EU, plus a Cleantech/Green Technology fund).0 -

I must have jinxed the markets
OK, can you keep that frame of mind until the 18th so this month's investments will be bought at a low price too on 17th? :rotfl::rotfl:
Come to think of it, please can you state you are definitely not investing in Russia and Greater Russia - I could do with the fund reversing its losses0 -
Maybe if SMF2 tells us what she's investing in we can all avoid?!Looking for the perfect home and saving to make becoming a MFW easier

A good point
Bloomberg makes very interesting viewing presently, and discussions at work today hinged on whether to invest in the markets or physical property... I think I'll end up invested via Funds/OIEC or Investment Trust in property (commercial) rather than physical bricks ourselves. But those thoughts could change with the idea of housing for DD if she goes to colleague in (gulp) 8 yrs time.
I've just updated my signature as today is the low point in the month as OH is paid tomorrow. Looks like on the offset we'll have to incur interest on about £680 of the mortgage capital for a few days so didn't quite recover to a full 100% offset (95.56% instead and hence 0.31% interest rate) , but we are still net positive even with expenses to claim from work and OH to recover several hundred pounds related to the costs for the Brownie camp she helped to organise. I hope to have all in place very quickly.0 -

Don't worry about the markets leave that until you're older with cash to risk, unless you have a SIPP of course?0 -
The problem with working 60+ hours a week and having 2 kids under 3 is the fiddly jobs like speard sheets, ironing washing windows tends to get put off until the twelf of never. I am getting there but needing a few moremonths of data to get a fuller pictureMF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000
