Has anyone managed to get TomTom working with the built in GPS 'work around?'
I've read on forums that people have it working on the N95 8GB and the N82 but I can't get a signal..
Am I doing something wrong?

I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!

My husband has the N82 and his works fine.
Have you tried to get a signal when you are outside and made sure it is pointing to the sky?Our dream has come true...0 -
I've updated the firmware on my N95 (Orgional) yesterday and it is slower to grab a signal (if it ever does!!) If you turn off Assisted GPS (aGPS required data connection).
I've not used TomTom in a while so not sure if it's a software or firmware issue.
Does the built in Nokia Maps work?
There is an updated Nokia Maps here:
http://europe.nokia.com/A4509271
install that and see if you can get a signalLaters

Yeh I got a signal with Nokia Maps..
Just seem to be struggling with the TomTom, it works fione with the external GPS.
Is the built in GPS just a poor one?
Where is it in the phone?I would have used my own initiative if someone would have told me to!0 -
The aerial for the N95 is at the bottom of the phone. So Best reception is with the slider up.
It's not as good as a dedicated GPS device but better than nothing.Laters

Yes TomTom works fine on the N95 and N95 8gig with the built in GPS,although you need to leave it a while with the slide open to pick the satellites up,
You also need to run the Binpda drivers everytime you run TomTom and add "other bluetooth device" in the configuration.0
