Common theme here is Internet explorer because browza and AOL's broswer are all using Internet Explorer technology this is why you keep having the same issue.

Download Firefox just to see if that works ok, i believe it will work fine which tell me we need to reinstall your Internet explorer and maybe update your AOL browser too.

If when you have tried firefox and it works we go here and download Internet Explorer so you can reinstall it hopefully this will then correct some of the problems.

I did it, but not exactly user friendly:o :o:o:o:o:o

    Way over my head.

    Can't "work" it:o

the important bit is the middle tab where it says "Status" they should be all OK. You can also look at your SMART history. Your disk will probably be fine, but you seem to be having a few problems which could be storage based.

Don't worry about the sofware, as long as the status is ok, please check it on the next reboot. There is "Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology" built into most modern hdd. The values a just figures that states up to what level would the drive have to go to to be deemed as bad.

You could have had a problem on you hdd in a small area and this could corrupt software. This software should hopefully inform you in advance before most HDD failures or changes.

While you are fixing stuff, you may want to try try an online virus scanner and a malware scanner too as per sticky on top of the forum.

Well I just stopped IE updating.

The main software took 2 minutes. The search for updates ran for 3 & a half hours before I stopped it.
I couldn't just shut it down either, I had to go into task manager & it said there was an error ???

So must be some sort of problem with that?
