Halifax BOS

WIth the recent changes with the layout in the online system - it takes longer to transfer money/pay bills online. Don't think HBOS has started the new fast-payment thing yet!

So, how long is the delay. I have a credit card due next Tuesday, if i pay mine today/tomorrow is that OK or is it better to do it at a branch which should make it faster? I dont want to pay unnecessary interest.

If u pay in branch tomorrow ask them to send an email to credit card department as its close to due date and you have a weekend in between

too late for the online payment to get there as it would not leave until tomorrow and weekend wont count = EDIT, actually as its after 6pm, it might not have even gone till monday

who's mike? I am female lol

it will still take a few days to get there, but gets backdated, and the email form secures it so that credit cards know its on its way

I am going to go online in a min to make a payment, and see what date it reverts to

Why are you thanking me in advance? You got a new crystal ball !!;)

It isn't taking longer to pay online ... but it's looking that way if you initiate immediately up to / over a weekend (as you are). If you have an existing bill payment targetting your CC ... that cuts out some of the time but (just tried it with one of mine, as still hesitant with this 'new' system .. despite Halifax maintain it's not!) it won't go until overnight Mon 2nd June.

As RegularSaver1 says (she does not respond to 'Mike' by the way .... and I was keying this / looking at my Halifax account before you edited!) pay it in Branch or (couple of years since I used my Halifax CC) can you ring and pay by Debit Card?

Halifax aren't on FP yet (until Aug / Sep) .... but this new confusion is caused by the FP code they've put in. As SOs (and likely bill payments which are closely related) don't run under FP other than on Bank working days.

No can't pay over phone, but no point really, as would be the same.

it takes a few days for payment to reach there - but i send about 6 payments a month - am clearing my card in its 0% period
