You could always use 3tsp lemon juice or 50 mg. ascorbic acid (Vit. C) as they are high in vit c.
Ginger is also often used as a dough enhancer. You won't notice a couple of teaspoons. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

TBH, I haven't used my wholemeal prog so have no idea how long it takes - well, I would if I read me manual, but not been that bored yet

Are those them things that get chucked into the kitchen drawer never to be seen again (as they usually manage somehow to work their way down the back of the kitchen units!) until something goes wrong!

In our house they're always referred to as the 'Destructions'
And are only ever referred to in case of absolute crisis!!
I'd rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might have-been has never been, but a has was once an are – Milton Berle0 -
Ticklemouse wrote:taplady - try adding vitamin C. I make a 1/2 and 1/2 loaf with white flour to wholemeal, but still cook it on a white loaf program but I also add a 60mg tablet of vit C (Tesco value, 33p for 30)
I never knew that's why white loaves took longer, squeaky. That's my "something new learned every day" item then
I followed your tips Ticklemouse and apart from being a bit smaller than a white loaf it came out well :j
thanks for the advice :T
Next I've got to tackle the granary !Do what you love :happyhear0 -
You're welcome. Glad you stuck with it and determined not to be beaten0

I had the same problem, tried the vit c tab and that didn't work. Now I just mix wholemeal and white flour together (50/50) and that works fine.Mortgage-free wannabe!0
