How's the Vistie Boys Getting On?

Installing a HP Officejet 7300 All in One...a printer/scanner that's about 3 years old now.
What's funny is you go through the drivers on HP's site and they don't even list that model!

Yet, from google seems the printer does exist
You can buy spare parts, cartridges, etc... Rather strange as HP have rather good driver support for x64 XP.
The only device I couldn't get working on x64 XP was my phone. It seems neither Nokia or Sony Ericsson believed 64-bit drivers were worth their time
Vista helped me in one major way -- it gave me a big push to embrace Linux. Some features in Vista are pretty good mind: voice interaction is useful; the quick search (although it will cause major hard drive indexing, and you can get it for XP;) pre-loading your favorite programs into ram at boot; and DirectX 10. I just dislike the way the control panel and networking is done; and the requirements are somewhat crazy...Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Insurers.
I used to work for a software house dealing with insurance quotations, so I know quite a lot about a few insurers!0 -
Been using Vista since it came out and was fairly satisfied with its performance on my not so powerful laptop (1.6Ghz/1GB RAM). Reverted back to XP today after reading this thread and can't tell you how glad I am to go back to XP (despite its own problems). Everything is running fast, software mostly behaving as expected and no unexpected surprises or buggy performance. It just feels that over the last few months I have been really using nothing but a prematurely developed system. Hopefully will stop me needing to do a fresh install every couple of weeks.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

Dunno what you'd been doing to Vista in that case then. I've had this computer running x64 for nearly 9 months without turning it off only restarts to update drivers with.0

so all in all it looks pretty and supports obscure printers then

Had it on a new lappy for a week and really pleased with its performance until this morning.
I downloaded Service Pack 1 and it screwed my internet connection and made IE hang after every 30 minutes, requiring a full restart.
I have now unsinsatlled SP1 and its back to normal. Although i am now concerned as some of the updates would hav been critical for security. May consider going back to xp but would prefer to stay with vista0 -
This Vistie boy is getting on fine! Not a single problem ever using Vista since June 2006.
Although I must admit, the one thing I really do miss about XP was the frequent BSOD's......:p something that my Vista has never had
