Mobile Recommendation Please

I need to by my daughter a mobile phone. She's just started secondary school and needs one for emergency calls only plus texting her mates. Budget is around £75 but could be flexible. Can anyone recommend a make/model and a good pay as you go tariff for this type of use? Thanks Wizzer

Not easily - a quick search on this found forums talking about cutting a test-point (this means getting it open and cutting a wire on a circuit board in the phone).
