Orange charged me for my PAC code
I had two Orange contracts expiring in April. I requested the PAC code to transfer the numbers to new o2 contracts. This was done on separate days - on each occasion no one mentioned a fee associated with the PAC code.
After my last bill in April I cancelled my direct debit with orange. Then in May I was sent another bill for each of the contracts charging £5 for using my PAC code.
I wanted to know - are they allowed to charge me without ever having told me about the charge in advance?

It is probably in the T & Cs somewhere. You may be able to do an online search and find it0 -
does it definately say a charge for pac? what exactly is written on the bill?
it may be that the pac was used before the end of the term so you were charged for buying out a couple of days worth of use? or if the contract ran into the next month again it charged a couple of days worth of use untill the port completedYes Your Dukeiness

It'll say something like PAC charge. But yep, you're right the charge is related to using your PAC code before the end of the term of you contract.
Say you contract expires 5th July, your request it today (30th May) Your number transfers on 30th June... you need to pay the line rental until 5th July (5days)
so that'll be where your £5er charge is.

They are actually allowed to charge up to £35 to provide you with a PAC code (as is any network), however it is very unusual for any of the networks to do this.
I expect it is a line rental charge to the end of the contract as previous posters have said.Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.0 -
