I have a little difficulty understanding your question.

Has the dealer told you that you can downgrade your tariff after 6 months, if you choose to do so? If that's the case then yes, you should be able to - ask the dealer or Orange to confirm.

You didn't mention whether you have a cashback deal associated with your contract. If you do, then you have to check the terms of your cashback arrangement to find out whether you can downgrade without losing your cashback entitlement.

I have alread received the cashback.

I paid £16 for the first 3 months then £32 for the next 3, and after downgrading it would go to £15 and only 20 mins a month.

If this had affected me then I would've had to carry on paying £32.00 for the rest of the six months.

Ok, in that case you should be ok then, hopefully :)
  • As the article says its the high value tarriffs at the mo that are being changed, the your plans are not mentioned from 1st oct........but who knows for the future,,dont think much will change at this section of market as its too competitive, tho orange might come into line with some of the other networks downgrade policies.

Yep, i've seen crazy offers from local phone outlets offering d500 with 2000 minutes and 500 texts, obviously, these are the high tariffs that will be downgraded. The outlets make a killing by getting you on the high tariff. Orange gets screwed and in turn screws customers!

Same here, a local shop charges £110 a month for the first 6 months but you get almost all of it back (£109.94!), after that you're given the option of cancelling the contract at a cost of £90 or downgrading to whatever tariff you need.

I guess they'll have to change their strategy now :)
