Recommend a good electric shower?

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a good electric shower? I don't really understand the choice, but we want one as powerful as possible and with different pressure settings.

Or even recommend a good brand name that usually makes good showers?
Thanks.

if you want powerfull you need to look at power shower ones...they have a pump to force the pressure through rather than rely on the mains pressure

So you can get power showers that are electric? Are there any makes that stand out or are they all more or less the same? The highest I've seen is 10.5kw, so would I be looking for one of those or something else?

okay for example (im not the seller ) this one just heats the water and you get mains pressure ...9.5kw is decent , higher the rating the faster it can heat , but doesnt make up for poor water pressure

this other type..power shower runs through a pump and will have great pressure , but it runs off the hot water tank

Thanks. I'm not sure exactly why we've decided to go for an electric shower and not one off the mains. I know that our boiler (combi) is noisy and it's always annoying when someone uses the hot water. Also our cold water pressure is quite good. I guess we will compromise on how powerful it will be but at the moment we don't have a shower at all so I suppose any shower is better than no shower!

Apart from the kw and how they look, is there anything else that would set apart the electric showers?

not sure what else to look for , be aware 10.5 is quiet hefty and needs to be wired in properly

ive always had triton brand ...last gave 15 yrs service before it started to leak so we purchased another , its 8.5kw and we have average pressure its not too bad at all, if you have good pressure a 10.5 kw should be ample

I currently have a Mira "Go" electric shower 8.5 kW (mains fed) and it's ok, the water flow isn't all that great but it's sufficient... now, at least that it's summer. In winter I turn the temp up and this affects water flow to about 2/3rds the summer flow but it's still ok to use.

Things that would persuade me to buy a certain make of shower would be the guarantee and kW rating. If I had to buy another electric shower I'd probably buy another Mira, but that might be because I don't really know any other brands out there and my current shower has served me well.
I'm also changing my electric shower for a mixer shower fed from the combi. I think electric showers are expensive when considering cost per shower compared to gas.

Here's a link to the Mira product range: http://www.mirashowers.com/onlinecatalog/shower_overview.jsp?cat=Electric+Showers

In my experience Triton are crap. I have had one for 16 months and the solenoid has packed up - the cost of a new part is 75% of teh cost of a complete new shower.....

I would of expected this shower to have lasted longer

my triton has let me down - the power button won't work (I have to switch it on by the independant power supply by the bathroom door) and the temperature guage doesn't alter when you turn the knob.

    they look very nice tho.

unfortunately triton seem to have the monopoly on showers.

if you have a combi boiler then you wont need an electric one as the pressure from you boiler will suffice, so just add mixer taps and a shower curtain.

if not then go for mira

I would also be interested in any recommendations.

Our plumber told us not to get a triton shower. He said they had been very good for many years but in the last few years have really gone down the drain (no pun intended!)
